About Me
I’m a teaching-track faculty member at Indiana University, Bloomington and the Director of Indiana University’s system-wide faculty development initiative, the Mosaic Institute for Active Learning. I have 20+ years of experience teaching writing, rhetoric, communication, professional skills, and general education courses across undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts and business school.
I’m passionate about building learning programs that empower students, teachers, and industry professionals to become acute critical thinkers, writers, and speakers with the confidence, rhetorical agility, and digital/AI literacies necessary to craft and communicate sharp ideas in a dynamic multimedia landscape.
I bring my training in rhetoric and critical thinking, forged in the liberal arts, to the challenges faced by students and professionals in the mass-mediated professional world. Informed by skills and theories assembled from metacognitive learning and iterative design thinking, I craft courses, materials, workshops, platforms, and programs that power high-quality, engaged learning experiences for students and outcome-oriented professional development for educators.
